1899 World Champion Short Sleeve Jersey
On August 10, 1899, at Montreal, Canada’s Queen’s Park racetrack Major Taylor
rode into history as he beat the finest American, Canadian and European cyclists
to win the one-mile world championship. The ‘1899’ jersey pays homage to that
legendary event as Major Taylor became the first Black-American to garner a
world championship in any sport.
The front features a classic design reminiscent of the style Taylor
frequently wore in competition. The rear proudly displays ‘1899 World Champion’
